Frequently Asked Questions
Why Work With You?
We believe in transperancy, which is why we focus on educating our authors on the what and the why of the process. We are happy to act on your behalf, but the accounts and files are yours. We’ve reverse-engineered the publishing process through the lens of promotion and have a realistic timeframe proven to ensure you are ready for your launch day. Our goal is to relieve as much stress from the process as possible!
Should I work with a traditional publisher, hybrid publisher, or self-publish?
This is a question I wrestled with and researched all the options. In today’s world, self-publishing is a great option for so many authors, giving you control over the project as well as the future of the book. Many “publishers” today help you accomplish self-publishing ownership in the long run but under the umbrella of their name and resources. We have a few great publisher partners we can refer if you want to work with this scenario. We can also talk you through the various nuances so you can make an educated decision as the author.
Do you take a percentage of revenue?
No. We charge for the work we do to help get your book published, but you keep the royalties for your book.
How much time is needed to publish?
Based on how involved your book is, length, and state of your manuscript, we can estimate a realistic timeframe. We’ve worked with so many authors that we know where the common hangups are, and where to expect potential glitches with the online book platforms. We have a timeline calculator designed to help us set milestone deadlines based on the publish date you want to aim for.
What Does Your Team Look Like?
I’ve worked closely with authors now for 15+ years, and have experience as an author myself. However, I have a great team of experts who help with editing, project management, and design, giving a comprehensive approach to any project. This gives us better quality control and creative ideas toward any author we’re supporting.
When Should I Start Thinking About Marketing and Launch Plans?
As soon as you’re confident your book is goign to be a reality, you can start promoting it and build your audience around your book for launch. However, the big lifts to promote your book typically get more focused 3-4 months before your public launch date, and depending on your strategies, can continue for months and years after launch.
